Brady D. O’Callaghan

The Honorable Judge Brady D. O’Callaghan is a graduate of Caddo Magnet High School in Shreveport. He received his B.A. with honors in philosophy from Yale University in 1995. He received his J.D. from the Paul M. Hebert school of Law at LSU in 1999. Upon graduation, he entered general civil practice in Baton Rouge. In 2001, he joined the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office as an assistant DA. He was a founding member of a special homicide offender task force and served as a special violent crimes prosecutor during his tenure. In 2004, he returned to Shreveport to serve as an assistant district attorney for Caddo Parish, where he served until his election last year. He is presently one of 11 district judges serving on the First Judicial District Court in Caddo Parish. He has lectured extensively on topics including jury selection, DWI prosecution, and the litigation of psychological and psychiatric issues in capital cases.
