The Louisiana Supreme Court Welcomes New Associate Justice Piper D. Griffin – January 1, 2021

Associate Justice Piper D. Griffin was elected to the Louisiana Supreme Court in November 2020 to represent the Seventh Supreme Court District, which covers most of Orleans Parish. Justice Griffin has served the past 20 years on Division I of the Orleans Parish Civil District Court. Prior to being elected to the bench, Justice Griffin was selected by the Louisiana Supreme Court to fill a Civil District Court vacancy and served as an Ad hoc judge on the Orleans Juvenile District Court. As a practicing attorney, Justice Griffin handled complex litigation for both plaintiffs and defendants. Justice Griffin received her J.D. from LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law School in 1987. In 1984 she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from the University of Notre Dame as a Notre Dame Scholar. Justice Griffin is a lifelong resident of New Orleans.
