Dr. Rebecca Lawrence Stenzel is a native of Louisiana and a graduate of Louisiana State University. She is an educator who has taught sixth grade through graduate school serving on the faculties of Northwestern State and Louisiana Tech University. At Tech she was Director of Libraries, held the Ross Endowed Professorship, and retired as Professor of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education. Publications address aspects of history in North Louisiana. Rebecca is the Northeast District Director of the Louisiana State Society Daughters of the American Revolution, LSDAR, and is President of the LSDAR Regent’s Club. She has served as LSDAR State Curator, and as Regent of Long Leaf Pine Chapter DAR. Rebecca served as President of the North Louisiana Historical Association, the Bernice Historical Society, and the Louisiana Academic Librarians Association. She is a Louisiana Master Gardener, a member of the Bernice Garden Club, and is active in the Bernice United Methodist Church serving as song leader. She has worked to provide the performing arts to rural underserved communities. Rebecca and her husband, Leroy, reside in the “Greater Bernice, Union Parish Metroplex.”
